How To Make Rosettes Curtains

Custom window treatments don’t have to be complicated. Add personality with these easy projects you can tailor to your own tastes.

Basic white panels get a custom look with this garden of long -stem roses in your choice of colors. Sew or glue rosettes and leaves you make ( see instructions on how to make rosettes curtains, below ) at alternating heights on curtain panels. Glue the green yarn in straight lines from the rosette to the bottom of the panel. Wrap the yarn around the bottom edge of the panel, and glue to the back for finished look.

What you’ll need :

  • 1/2 yard linen fabric for flowers ( we used gold)
  • 3 inch diameter drinking glass
  • Needle and thread to match the linen
  • Green cotton fabric for leaves
  • Green thread
  • Green yarn
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Step 1

Using the drinking glass for a template, trace circle on the linen. ( we used four or five circle pet flower). cut out.

  • Step 2

Fold a circle in half, then in half again, so the circle is quartered ( a ). bunch the quartered circles together and pinch with your fingers ( b ). stitch together at the pointed tip. Repeat for all the circles. ( for a no-sew option, these pieces could be glued.)

  • Step 3

For each flower, cut out two sizes of leaf shapes from green fabric ( c). ( to create a symmetrical leaf pattern, cut a curved line on folded paper. When you unfold it, you’ll have your shape.)

  • Step 4

Place the smaller leaf on top of the larger. Position where you will place the yarn stems. Attach leaves to the panel by sewing a straight stitch down the center of both leaf layers with green thread.

  • Step 5

Use glue to attach the yarn stem ( d ). use glue to attach the rosettes to the panels (e ).
